World's Classiest McDonald's


Though a Georgian mansion built in 1795 isn’t the likeliest spot for a McDonald’s, when the fast food chain bought one in 1987 intending to tear it down and erect one of their golden arched models, the town of New Hyde Park, New York resisted. Instead, they now have this: a fancy McDonald’s with an indoor balcony and glass-enclosed porch that looks like it could have been a the favorite lunch spot of Thomas Jefferson.
